In sport we are very good at reviewing the outcome against a process. We tend not to explore the non-technical, difficult to quantify make up and interactions of the team and why they behave and operate in certain ways.

The practitioner story board is a novel review approach which gives organisations and leaders a unique perspective on their team.

Through interviews, shadowing and facilitated workshops a picture will emerge of how both individual support services and the multi-disciplinary approach support the coaching process and the athletes outcomes.

Example process:

  1. Individual interviews (introduction)
  2. Shadowing (individual and team)
  3. Workshops (The Team & Impact)
  4. Synthesis and Findings
  5. Review and Reflect

Review of delivery against the objective and the processes that teams went through is a one dimensional approach to seeking insight. Understanding individuals, the team and how they integrate both through an interpersonal and technical lens can give a much more rounded perspective on failure or success.
